Kat Irwin

A New Chapter

Hi there! *waves* I’m Kat Irwin. Welcome to my blog. 🙂 I thought I’d get things rolling with a little introductory post.

About This Blog/Site

This site is fairly sparse at the moment. I’ll likely add a new page for my books as they are released, but I plan to keep things pretty basic. In case you’re wondering, I’m not a prolific blogger. (I like to focus most of my time on my novel writing.) You can expect to see posts maybe 1-2 times a month, mostly about book news and updates.

If you want to keep in touch, and receive updates before they’re posted publicly, you can subscribe to my newsletter. You can check out the perks and sign up here.

About Me

OK, I have a confession to make. Kat Irwin isn’t my only moniker. I also write epic fantasy as Jacquelyn Smith. I’m just starting to branch out into the action/thriller genre, and I thought it would be best to brand my new titles separately under a different name. (If you’re wondering what the heck I was thinking, you can read more about that decision here.)

You can also check out the About page to learn more about my interests/obsessions. 😉

Why ‘Kat Irwin’?

‘Kat’ is short for ‘Katana’—an online alias I’ve had for years in the Nine Inch Nails fan community. I’ve been Kat/Katana to some of my friends for so long now, it just seemed like a natural name to use. ‘Irwin’ is my husband’s last name.

About My Books

I’m in the process of writing my first Kat Irwin novel, so obviously I don’t have a lot to reveal right now. My fantasy novels as Jacquelyn Smith are very action driven, with bits of quirky humor and snarky dialogue. These are traits that will carry over to my writing as Kat Irwin.

The book I’m working on right now is the first novel in a potentially ongoing series, and features a kick-ass female protagonist. I’ll be posting more updates as I go along (cover, blurb, excerpts, etc.), so stay tuned!
